Getting to our flats

Water taxi arriving at Laguna dockOur flats are less than five minutes walk from Palanca vaporetto stop on Giudecca, and only a minute's walk from each other.

Your different arrival options are outlined below.

We will email you more detailed information on arrival arrangements, options & costs when you book.

From VENICE (Marco Polo) AIRPORT

From Venice (Marco Polo) Airport - which is on the edge of the Lagoon - you have the following options:

By Water Taxi

Time: 5 minutes walk to the airport water taxi dock. Then approx 25 minutes door to door.
Total cost: approx 120 euros (depending on the number of people).

The fastest, most direct and convenient, and most scenic route - and the most expensive. But your holiday starts at the airport. If you decide to take this route only one way then its best to arrive this way.

NB - If you have heavy luggage or mobility problems then this option is especially recommended as there is either one bridge (for Corte) or two bridges (for Laguna) between the nearest waterbus stop at Palanca and our flats.

By Taxi & Vaporetto (Water Bus)

San BasilioDirections: By Taxi to San Basilio or Tronchetto and then by Vaporetto no 2 (two or four stops) to Palanca.
Time: Approx 40 minutes plus a 5 minute walk to your flat.
Cost: taxi 32-36 euros (depending on how many people).

The second fastest, second most expensive and second most convenient route. The taxi takes you as far as you can go on Venice's limited road system, to near the start of the Zattere at the Maritime Station. Then you walk 50 yards and cross a small bridge to the San Basilio vaporetto stop. Especially good for arriving on a dark rainy night when you won't see much anyway.

Alternatively, to avoid the walk, you can take a taxi to Tronchetto and board a no 2 vaporetto there.

By the ‘Alilaguna' boat service

AlilagunaDirections: 5 minutes walk to the Alilaguna dock. Then by boat to the Molino Stucky Hilton on Giudecca and a short walk to your apartment.
Time: 1 hour 45 mins plus an eight minute walk
Cost per person: 13.00 euros.

A slow, but inexpensive and quite scenic, option that takes you via the island of Murano, the Lido and St Marks Square to Giudecca. The service runs every half hour until mid-evening - less frequently after that. You will find a current timetable at http://www.alilaguna.it/index.en.html

By Bus & Vaporetto (water bus) - 1

no 5 busDirections: Bus No. 5 to Venice Bus Station at Piazzale Roma. Then by Vaporetto - three stops by No. 42 or five stops by No. 2 to Palanca.
Time: approx 1 hour 10mins plus a 5 minute walk to your flat.
Cost per person: Bus 6.00 euros. Vaporetto travelcards - see tariff.

Definitely the budget option. You can buy 1-day, 3-day and 7 day all-inclusive vaporetto tickets online before you go and then collect them at the airport, train or bus stations or at ticket machines around Venice. This is a good option for arriving at or leaving Venice as the bus stops right outside the airport arrivals/departures lounges.

Venice Council have recently launched a new website - http://www.veneziaunica.it - for travelcards and tourism tickets around the city.

By Shuttle Bus & Vaporetto - 2

airport shuttleDirections: By ATVO blue bus Venice Bus Station at Piazzale Roma. Then by Vaporetto - three stops by No. 42 or five stops by No. 2 to Palanca.
Time: approx 1 hour 10mins plus a 5 minute walk to your flat.
Cost per person: Bus 3.00 euros.

Unlike the no 5 this shuttle bus doesn't stop en route and is a bit less frequent. Buy your ticket in the arrivals hall or outside by the airport bus stop. It also allows you to buy 3-day all-inclusive vaporetto tickets as you pass through Piazzale Roma (see getting around Venice).

From TREVISO AIRPORT

treviso bus stopDirections: By coach to Venice Bus Station at Piazzale Roma and then by vaporetto - three stops by route No. 42 or five stops by route No. 2 - to Palanca.
Time:
approx 1 hour 30mins plus a 5 minute walk to your flat.
Cost per person: 9 euros return. You can see a current Timetable at  http://www.atvo.it/orari/pdf_airport/Ryanair.pdf

If you fly Ryanair to Treviso then you will arrive by this route. This allows you to buy 3-day all-inclusive vaporetto tickets as you pass through Piazzale Roma (see getting around Venice).
